About Me
I am a Forward Deployed Engineer, AI at Command Alkon, and one of the first here to cross from the product organization onto the engineering track. I was a product owner who kept shipping production code. There was no title for that, so in June 2026 the company created one, and two months later the role moved onto the engineering track.
I build AI agent capabilities on Anthropic Claude via AWS Bedrock with the Strands agent runtime, Lambda, DynamoDB, and an Aurora analytics warehouse. I care most about three things: classifying agent failure modes by root cause and blast radius and turning what I find into eval gates a change has to pass; guardrails for tenant isolation, read-only data access, and grounded answering, where confidently wrong output is a top-severity defect class; and turning one-off customer solutions into reusable platform capabilities.
Outside of that I run Nic Brem Create, a one-person product engineering practice. I design, build, ship, and support production software for paying customers, solo, from discovery through the operations that follow.

Solo-architected a venue operating system for private hospitality (membership identity, application review, door and access control, live floor state, and a first-party POS), ~106k lines in roughly six weeks. Shipped to production infrastructure; pre-launch pilot with two venue customers.

One of the first at Command Alkon to cross from the product organization onto the engineering track. Shipping production code as a product owner led the company to create a builder title in June 2026, then move the role onto engineering as Forward Deployed Engineer, AI in August 2026.
- Own end-to-end delivery of AI agent capabilities, from customer discovery through rollout: agent behavior, data access, integrations, and the workflow change that makes adoption real
- Build on Anthropic Claude via AWS Bedrock with the Strands agent runtime, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and an Aurora analytics warehouse, reaching for existing platform APIs before building bespoke

- Earlier in this role: led CXAI, the central AI function, and architected the production RAG-based enterprise knowledge platform with multi-provider LLM integration, citation attribution, ABAC, and enterprise SSO
